We mulch dense underbrush and suitable small trees around Lafayette lots, trails and fence lines. Our compact track loader carries a forestry mulching head, works around marked trees and turns woody growth into mulch that stays on the ground. Buried roots remain in place.
Best for overgrown lots, trails and selective clearing where an on-site mulch layer fits your plans.
Shred underbrush, woody shrubs and small trees; stems up to 7 inches assessed individually.
Controlled passes around the trees you want to keep.
Mulch processed on-site; root removal and hauling are separate.

Forestry Mulching in Broussard, LA
A customer wanted to open up their wooded area in Broussard, but dense underbrush and smaller trees made it hard to walk through. We brought in our compact track loader with a forestry mulching head, mulched the thick growth and kept the marked trees the customer wanted to save. We left the material on the ground as mulch, making the area easier to walk and maintain. The owner was pleased with the work we did.

Our Forestry Mulching Process and Equipment
Our process uses an efficient mulching head mounted on a compact track loader to shred wood, underbrush and small to medium-sized trees, typically 5-7 inches in diameter. We work in controlled passes around marked trees, then reprocess thicker material into ground cover. Tree species, density and site conditions determine how we approach each stem.
Tallow, Privet and Dense Understory
Chinese tallow and privet can crowd open edges and wooded lots around Acadiana. We assess each patch for stem size, wood density, access and trees to retain. Mulching reduces suitable above-ground growth; surviving roots can resprout, so one visit does not guarantee permanent control. Native palmetto and selected understory plants can stay where they fit your plans.
Land Clearing Questions, Clear Answers.
Will forestry mulching remove roots and stop tallow regrowth?+
Mulching reduces suitable above-ground growth and normally leaves buried roots in place. Tallow and privet can resprout from surviving roots or cut stumps. Follow-up maintenance may be needed. Root extraction and stump grinding are separate work.
Can you keep the live oaks and clear underneath?+
Yes, when the brush, access and ground suit the work. We mark the trees to retain, plan equipment routes around their root areas and work in controlled passes. Larger limbs, roots and nearby structures can change the method.
How do you prepare a quote?+
We review the property location, access, vegetation, trees to keep and your intended finish. Photos help with the first review, and site conditions determine the final scope. Stump work, hauling, permits and construction-pad preparation are priced separately when needed.
